Edge of Force

stormy sunset

Another storm cell was rolling in last night as the sun set and it gave a little fire for a moment before the lighting started getting too close for comfort.

Friends in High Places

This week has had some spectacular sunsets. We had a few small storm clouds roll through and then clear up. It was really hot and humid, but we have been lucky to get some really nice days in the 70s yesterday and today. Windows open!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrast

contrast

I took this the other night, and it is my choice for the weekly photo challenge! I love the edge that glows along the cloud after the sun goes right behind it. If you look really hard, there is a bird flying in the sky.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Extra, Extra

Shine on

I chose this photo for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Extra, Extra because as the sun was setting it fell behind a strip of clouds. I was shooting other views and then turned back around and voila! The sun was back out, peeking through a hole in the clouds and the trees. An extra treat for the sunset fan (like me)!

Soft and Sweet

I am swooning~ soft and sweet and floating like my heart~

Oh Mammatus!

Short and sweet: Last night we had a small storm cell go through. My favorite clouds, the mammatus, were spectacular!!! And we saw and heard some big bullfrogs and were graced by many red winged blackbirds and swallows! Glory Be!

A Little Help From My Friends, Please?

Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been absent lately. It is the end of the school year. It is a pleasant time I like to call “hell”. In addition to the myriad of activities I am involved in at my children’s school (which I really love, but all at the same time is craziness) the deadline for the Fine Arts Competition at the Ohio State Fair is in a little over a week. I collected some photos I might like to submit. It is $10 per submission so I only want to do a couple. I was hoping you could let me know the photo(s) you prefer and help me narrow my choices! Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!!!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument

how do I love thee?

A monument to love in the sky…..or a cloud version of Bugs Bunny’s Orange Monster “Gossamer”. 😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections (II)

Here are some sunset (and one morning sun) photos from Alum Creek Reservoir. While I am looking forward to the Spring and growing some vegetation during the upcoming warmer months, I will miss the insect/human-free hikes to my favorite hideaway.

Sweet Sensation
